Tip of the Day:
Limit your airplane travels. It is wiser to opt for destinations that are closer to home, ones that you can reach by car or, better yet by public transportation (train or bus), since the plane emits 19 times more greenhouse gases than the train.

WINE CORK RECYCLING CAMPAIGN
SOS PLANÈTE specialises in environmental awareness projects in Montreal's West Island and most of our projects are done by volunteers with limited resources. That is why we started a recycling campaign for wine corks, which we use to make corkboards. This project enables us to, among other things, educate the population on the importance of reusing, recycling and the sustainable management of our natural resources while at the same time helps us to gain a little bit of money. The funds obtained through the sale of corkboards our volunteers have crafted, is used to finance other awareness projects, such as: school visits, shoreline cleanups, kiosks and workshops, documentation, etc. We receive corks from citizens and restaurants like ChuChaï and Casa Galicia. SOS PLANÈTE also recuperates old wooden frames, which we use to support the actual corkboard.
